From the Designer:
This design can be stitched in multiple ways. It could be a commemorative piece for a special occasion (a wedding, a birth, or any other celebration), but it could just as well be a welcome sampler. You can stitch the design on light linen (as seen on the cover) or choose a dark background with lighter flosses, as seen on the back.
It is also possible to stitch a small version of this design: here, you would start at the bottom and mirror the bottom motif but keep the birds at the top of the original graph. The image on the back of this booklet shows how this could be done.
